I have been eargly awaiting the release of Aurora HDR 2018 which has been released in the last few weeks. To do a demo, I used a landscape photo I took at the il Tartufo restaurant near Arrowtown, NZ during a work trip. The photo is two stitched images which were stitched in Lightroom and had some very minor editing conducted to the image. The image was duplicated and edited in Aurora HDR 2018 where I picked the "Landscape Enhanced Preset" but made no other changes. Left is old image, right is Aurora HDR.
The Blue Pools track is another must visit if you are on the South Island and near the Mount Aspiring National Park. The Blue River itself is a small river which flows within the Mount Aspiring National Park. The head of the river is south-east of the main range near the Mountain Eyetooth, and later on, the north and south branch join to form the main Blue River. Prior to the Blue River flowing into the Makrora river, it passes through a narrow gorge which is known as the 'Blue Pools'.
the second part of the trip involved a visit to Wanaka before stopping overnight at the Lake Hawea Hotel. The actual lake itself (Hawea) is located in the Otago region at an altitude of around 348 metres. The lake itself is named in Maori and is thought to be named after a local tribe, however, at the time no information was available as to the actual meaning of the name.
I took a flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound which went for around 45 mins to an hour, a cruise across Milford Sound which went for around two hours and a return flight which went for around 45 minutes to an hour.
In March i visited New Zealand for a combination of work and a holiday. Although the trip was short it was fairly packed with a total travel distance of around 800kms in four days. This map by OpenStreetMaps highlights the journey.
