<span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">At a microscopic level, incredible detail is unlocked from within all sorts of chemicals (either everyday or uncommon). This detail can be in the form of shapes and/or patterns, but can also be as a result of differing optical properties (e.g. refractive index). In the case of differing optical properties, with a few microscopic tools (e.g. polarizing filters) these chemicals can often result in an explosion of color.</span><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">We will progressively be adding new Microscope Art (from Sodium thiosulfate through to heavy metals), so why not follow the blog to keep up to date on some of the cool chemicals and what they look like under the microscope.</span>
