Coming home the other day I had to stop whilst an Echidna crossed the road, I could not help but try and capture some photos once it had safely cleared the road. The Echidna had found a log that I assume had a few ants and also provided a safe spot, so it watched me from relative safety (or smelled / sensed me). Image was edited in Lightroom CC. Captured on 24/12/2023 with a Sony ILCE-7RM4 and FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS @ 452 mm, ¹⁄₈₀₀ sec at ƒ / 6.3, ISO 1250. I would have loved to get better shots, but long grass, and not spooking the animal prevented me getting closer.
