I recently visited the Healesville Sanctuary over the school holidays to see the Spirits of the Sky show and the animals at the sanctuary. One that really caught my eye was the Red Tailed Black Cockatoo (C. banksii) with its incredible yellow spots designed to help break up its silhouette (so I am told).  Because the bird was being held by the keeper it allowed for me to get up close to the bird which was a wonderful experience. The image of the bird was captured with a Nikon D610, Nikkor 28 – 300mm (@ 300mm), 1/60 seconds, f/11 & ISO 2500. The photo was edited in Skylum's Luminar & Aurora HDR before being finished off in Affinity Photo.
