Butterflies (macrolepidopteran clade Rhopalocera from the order Lepidoptera) are one of my favorite insects. I love spending time at the Melbourne Zoo in the Butterfly Enclosure (despite the humidity) and once I have settled In i think I could honestly spend a day in there photographing these increadible creatures. This image was captured with a Nikon D610 and Sigma 150mm Macro lens. Image was edited in Lightroom, Topaz Denoise AI and Luminar AI.
An interesting fact about butterflies is that their wings are actually more ‘alive' than you would think and are involved heavily in thermoregulation.
