During a visit to my parents I noticed a little honeyeater; a Juvenile Eastern Spinebill (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris) flying in and out of the lavender bushes so could not resist taking a photo. I quickly grabbed my Sony A7R 4 and the Sigma 150-600mm lens and quickly snapped a photo of the bird in the seconds it sat still whilst eating from the lavender bush, the bird alternated between hovering and sitting on the branch to eat the nectar from the lavender flowers. The image was edited in Lightroom and Aurora HDR, and was shot at ISO 640, f/6.3 & 1/1000 sec. An interesting fact about the Eastern Spinebill is that it is able to eat whilst hovering which makes it almost an Australian equivalent of the Hummingbird.
