Skylum, the creators of Luminar AI and the recently announced Luminar Neo have announced a new range of features which are expected to be included within the Luminar Neo photo editing tool. Whilst I have not seen the product yet, Skylum have announced a range of new features. Once I have access I will be aiming to do a video / post on the new features and my thoughts on the included tools.

Whilst this post does not explore the reasoning behind Luminar Neo as compared to Luminar AI, I have done another post here so if you are interested you can take a look at that. For now the features that have been announced are included below:

⚬ Dust RemovalAI
Lens or sensor let you down? Automatically remove evidence of lens and sensor dust from your photos.

⚬ Line RemovalAI
Line RemovalAI gives you perfect pictures with zero effort. Remove unwanted powerlines from skies and put more focus on your subjects just in one click.

⚬ Overlays
Luminar Neo includes built-in overlays and object libraries which allow to start creating layered compositions right out of the box.

⚬ Luminar Share
Luminar Share allows you to easily transfer photos edited in Luminar Neo from desktop to mobile and share them to your social channels quickly and easily.

My Thoughts:

Whilst I haven't had the chance to use the software yet, I do think these tools look like a fantastic edition to the suite of tools. I for one struggle with sensor dust so having a tool that can identify this and remove it would save me a significant amount of time in my workflow. The powerline utility looks fantastic as well although I must admit most of the places I shoot I don't have to worry about powerlines so it is less of an issue for me.

Luminar Share is an interesting addition as well, I can see the value in being able to get your edited image to your phone so it becomes much easier for you to share it to the various social media platforms. Part of me wishes it worked the other way as well so you could get photos from your phone to Luminar Neo but alas that does not appear to be possible.

Once I have access to the software I will be doing some videos and using some of my own images to show the functioning of the various AI tools and utilities. For now though if you are interested in purchasing you can see the links and more detail below.
